Last summer, SMASHING PUMPKINS singer BILLY CORGAN held auditions to replace drummer JIMMY CHAMBERLIN . . . and ended up hiring a then-19-year-old kid named MIKE BYRNE. Well that apparently went so well that Billy has decided to hold auditions to fill two other spots in the band: Bassist and Keyboardist. (As of right now, the Smashing Pumpkins merely consist of Billy and the little drummer boy. All the other musicians Billy has been working with have been temporary . . . so there isn't any drama with the exiting members.) Billy says anyone is welcome to audition.
