The Barbara Forfar Nursing Scholarship teams up with the United Way of Monmouth and Ocean Counties and Jenks Club in Point Pleasant Beach to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy and the nurses of Ocean Medical Center at its 2nd annual fundraiser "Rock for the Nurses – Rock for the Shore" to be held Sunday, April 21st starting at 11am. The eight hour (+) event will feature live performances from the Matt Noffsinger Band, Joe Baracata Band, Timepiece Band, Pat Roddy Band, The Shore Ratz, Lisa & Wendy, Guns 4 Hire, Craig Daniel and Ned Ryerson Live, an all you can eat hot & cold buffet, cash bar, coffee, soft drinks, desert and other special activities. Tickets are $30 per person (kids under 12 are free) and are available at Jenks Club (Point Pleasant Beach), Bow-Kay Florist (Brick) and Ocean Medical Center (Brick). Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door. 100% of all proceeds from the event will be divided among the Barbara Forfar Nursing Scholarship Fund which annually benefits the nurses of Ocean Medical Center by providing nursing scholarships to nurses and nursing students looking to further their formal education in the nursing profession and the United Way of both Monmouth and Ocean County to be earmarked to specifically help the local victims of Hurricane Sandy here at the jersey shore.
