Record companies are having a hard time of it… and they’re asking Congress for a free hand out from radio. We already pay tons in licensing and royalty fees every year, like we’ve been doing since we’ve started. But now, since the record business is hurting, the record companies are literally biting the hand that feeds them by begging Congress to make us pay more.

All radio, including 95.9 The Rat, will be affected if we get crushed like this… we could be forced to play less music and even cut back on the local programming that we know you love. Well, we won’t stand for it, and we need your help… and we've received your help.

The Rat wants to thanks everyone who called Rep. Chris Smith of the 4th district because we recently heard back from him. He told us that he would support the Local Radio Freedom Act which opposes these new costs to radio…
which will keep The Rat rockin' well into the future.
