WRAT High Def Den Contest Rules

 How to Enter for a Chance to Win

The WRAT Hi Def Den Contest runs from November 7th through December16th, 2011.  There are four ways to become a qualifier for the Grand Prize drawing:

(1)     Listen to WRAT from November 7th through December16th, 2011, and be caller number 9 when you hear a song by the designated “Artist of the Day” play between 12:01 am and 11:59 pm that day.  For a calendar of Artists of the Day, go to www.wrat.com and visit the Club Rat page.  No less than 100 qualifiers will be selected on-air.  NOTE: Only a song from the specific Artist of the Day, when played in its entirety from beginning to end on WRAT, will be used to solicit contest calls.  Snippets of songs played for advertising or promotional purposes and music beds that contain music from the Artist of the Day WILL NOT count.  Listeners should try to be the 9^th caller as soon as they hear the song begin to play.  If a listener accidentally calls when a song snippet or music bed is played, s/he will simply be informed of the error.  Online listeners to the WRAT web stream may experience a reception delay of up to one minute.  Listening to the station’s over-the-air broadcast is the best way to participate in the on-air portion of this contest.  Winner qualification is subject to FULL phone call completion, and the verification of the caller’s name, address, home phone number, work/cell phone number and social security number, all of which must be provided prior to completion of the call.   Contest calls will not be accepted at any other number.  Become a member of Club Rat at www.wrat.com; there is no charge to join.

1. All entries must be received by close of business on December 9, 2011.

(3)     Register in person at the WRAT Hi-Def Den Giveaway on December 17th, 2011, between 4:00 pm and 6:00pm, at the Stone Pony on Ocean Ave in Asbury Park, NJ.  At least five (5) additional qualifiers will be selected at random from the event entries.

Entrants may only qualify once during the contest period, regardless of entry method.  All qualifiers (other than the final qualifiers selected at the giveaway event) will be notified by phone or email and will be invited to the WRAT Hi Def Den Giveaway on Saturday, December 17th, 2011, starting at 4:00pm, at the Stone Pony on Ocean Ave in Asbury Park, NJ.  Qualified participants must attend the Hi Def Den Giveaway event on December 17^th in order to be eligible to win the Grand Prize. Substitutions are permitted if approved in advance by WRAT promotions personnel. Qualifiers must register with the WRAT promotions crew between 4pm and 6pm on the 17^th to be eligible to participate in the Grand Prize drawing.  Must be present (or approved substitute must be present) to win.

Grand Prize winner will be determined by random drawing or other random selection method from all qualifiers registered and present at the Hi Def Den Giveaway event on Saturday, December 17^th, 2011.  Subject to confirmation of eligibility, the qualifier whose name is drawn will win the Grand Prize Hi Def Den. 

All contest entries will become the property of WRAT and will not be acknowledged or returned.

Prize

One Grand Prize package will be awarded, consisting of: 60” LG 3D HD TV, LG Blue Ray DVD Player, Pioneer Receiver, 5.1 Home Theater Speaker System, 2 Reclining Theater Style Seats from Coaster, Delonghi Espresso Machine,  iPad 2 with wifi 16GB (referred to on-air as a Mobile Tablet Device) and Installation. Prize package is valued at approximately: $10,000.  Installation available only for residences in Monmouth or Ocean County and includes only standard installation services.  Any additional equipment or labor required for installation will be winner’s responsibility and must be paid in advance.  Scheduling is subject to availability.

Odds of being a qualifier depend on number of eligible entries received through each entry method.  Odds of winning the grand prize once a qualifier are approximately one in 150, depending on exact number of qualifiers present at the giveaway event.  Non-cash prizes are not redeemable for cash.  WRAT reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute any prize with one of equal or greater value.  Winner may not request prize substitution.  Prizes are non-transferable and may not be claimed or used by any person other than the winner.  Winner must claim prizes in person at the WRAT offices within 30 days after the end of the contest.  Prizes not claimed within the 30-day period will be forfeited. 

Eligibility

All entrants must be at least 21 years old and legal residents of New Jersey.  A winner will be disqualified if he/she or a member of his/her household has won a WRAT contest with a value over $50.00 within the previous 60 days.  Employees (including their immediate families and members of the same household) of Greater Media New Jersey, its affiliates, promotional sponsors, advertising and promotional agencies who do business with WRAT, and other radio stations in WRAT’s metro survey area (as defined by Arbitron) are not eligible to participate in any contest presented by WRAT.  One entry per person per entry method; multiple entries will disqualify the entrant.  No purchase or other consideration is necessary to participate in this contest.

WRAT undertakes no liability or responsibility, and makes no warranties, express or implied, with respect to the performance of the prize(s) awarded, for any failure to perform or negligent performance of any service provider, or for any other risk, incident or damage, direct or indirect, relating to or arising out of the contest, including (but not limited to) cancellations, postponements, delays or other scheduling changes; missed events or connections or inability of winner to attend; and accident, injury, damage or expense arising from or occurring during the use of the prize, or travel to/from or attendance at any event relating to the contest, by the winner and/or winner’s guest(s).  WRAT is not responsible for damage to a prize or loss of a prize after the prize has been claimed. Winners must inspect their prizes before leaving the station.  WRAT is not responsible for technical, hardware or software failure or malfunctions, lost or unavailable network or other telecommunications connections, or lost, late, misdirected, damaged, illegible, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled, disconnected, or delayed contest entries or communications, whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or used in this contest, or by any human error which may occur in the execution of this contest.  If, for any reason, the contest is not capable of being conducted as planned, including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bug, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or other causes beyond the control of WRAT, Station management reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest and/or determine an alternate method of awarding the prize(s)..

License

Entry into any contest constitutes full permission for WRAT and promotion sponsors and their respective affiliates to broadcast and/or to photograph or publish the participant's name, voice, recorded comments, biographical information, face and likeness without compensation.

Taxes

WRAT will report the total value of each prize to the IRS and will furnish winner with a federal Form 1099.  Winner must provide his/her social security number to WRAT for tax reporting purposes, and is solely responsible for payment of all taxes incurred as a result of the award of a prize. 

General

Failure to conform to all contest rules, or any fraud or other illegal or inappropriate conduct on the part of a contestant, will result in the contestant's disqualification and forfeiture of any prize won.  WRAT reserves the right to rule ineligible listeners who, in WRAT’s sole judgment, engage in abusive conduct with respect to any contest or promotion conducted by WRAT or its affiliates.  WRAT reserves the right to make changes in the contest rules at any time, which changes will become effective upon announcement.  By taking part in this contest, participants agree to be bound by these rules and all decisions of the judges, who are employees of WRAT and whose decisions with respect to all aspects of the contest are final and binding.  Copies of written contest rules and, if required by law, the list of winners are available during regular business hours at the WRAT studio, 1731 Main St., Lake Como, NJ  07719, for 60 days after the contest concludes.  

As a condition to participating in this Contest, each entrant agrees that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between the parties, and all causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Contest shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in New Brunswick, NJ having competent jurisdiction, which court shall apply the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to the conflicts of law principles thereof. The entrant and WRAT hereby waive any and all right to trial by jury. If any provision of these Official Rules is declared or found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be illegal, unenforceable or void, then such provision will be null and void but each other provision hereof not so affected will be enforced to the full extent permitted by applicable law. 

Contest is void where prohibited by law.  All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
