Good morning local rockers! I had a blast hanging with you all at The Jersey Shore Music Festival this past weekend. Great job to all of the bands!
Now it's time to get back into the music!
Please allow me to introduce to you my featured band of the week, Harper's Fellow.
In their own words:
Harper's Fellow came about in the early months of 2012. Cortney Metzler was given a Martin acoustic guitar and the songs just poured out. She would write and rehearse at her hair salon and soon discovered that her coworker Janelle Reyes had a phenomenal voice and an inherent knack for writing harmonies. The two began writing and performing together under the Harper's Fellow moniker and it wasn't long before the rest of the band would take shape. Cortney met Eric Castellazzo (Lead Guitar/Vocals) in September 2012 while playing the famous Thursday night Artist Showcase at the now defunct Trinity and the Pope. Eric filled in for a few shows before joining full time and he brought on friend and frequent collaborator Brendan Smith (Bass) who enlisted the services of Alex Ford (Drums) who had played in several bands together over the years. After honing their craft through countless shows in and around the Asbury Park, NJ music scene, the group retreated to their home studio in Rumson, NJ to record their debut album. Recorded and produced entirely on their own and funded through the crowdfunding platform IndieGoGo, Harper's Fellow debut album "Thanks for Tonight" is set to be released out into the world on Saturday, July 27th, 2013. The album title was originally conceived around the idea of thanking each band member for the time, money and effort that they put into everything we do. Whether it be a practice, show or an entire album, everyone puts their heart and soul into Harper's Fellow and we want the world to be a part if it. It has evolved to be much more than that though. After our successful IndieGoGo campaign, we saw how supportive people were and realized we could not do this without each and everyone of them. So while we still thank each other continually we must really thank all our fans and supporters above all else. We hope to see you all at The Saint on Saturday, July 27th for our CD Release Party with Frank Lombardi, Last Perfect Thing and Thomas Wesley Stern. In advance, "Thanks for Tonight"!
Be sure to tune into Jersey Rock this Tuesday-Thursday night at 11:30pm to hear their tunes on The Rat!
