1. Nirvana – In Utero 20th Anniversary
This year marked the 20th anniversary of Nirvana’s third and final studio album, In Utero, and in celebration, the band released a special deluxe package of the LP which is perfect for the grunge-rock lover on your list!
Available now at Nirvana.com, the collection includes remastered versions of all of In Utero’s original songs such as “All Apologies” and “Heart Shaped Box,” as well as rare B-sides, unheard demos, live recordings and more, totaling at more than 70 tracks. The package can be purchased as a 3-CD/1-DVD “Super Deluxe Edition,” as well as on standard digital and CD formats.
Some of the live material is made up of recordings captured at the band’s 1993 show at Seattle’s Pier 48, which became one of the last times that Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl and Pat Smear were able to share the stage with their late bandmate, Kurt Cobain, who passed away the following April.
The concert footage is also available on the DVD Live and Loud, which comes with the Super Deluxe Edition of In Utero 20th Anniversary but can also be purchased separately.
Nirvana recently scored an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and will honored at the ceremony next spring.
