In honor of its patent anniversary, we’re going to dive into the guitar that has changed the world, the Fender Stratocaster. Rock and metal wouldn’t be the same without this legendary guitar, and it’s easy to see why. Here are our five of our favorite Active Rock Strat users:
Eddie Van Halen
Eddie certainly has had a lengthy career as one of the most iconic guitarists of all time. Today, he continues his legendary guitar career as an avid user of his own Strat. While his guitar is kind of a “monster” of guitar pieces, it is shaped after the style of a Strat and uses Strat pieces.
Kenny Wayne Shepherd As a majorly successful musician of the 90’s through today, Kenny has a sound all his own. Most of it can be attributed to his use of the Stratocaster. Kenny’s bluesy-rock riffs and sick licks coupled with the tone of his Strat has certainly landed him a spot on the top 5!John FruscianteKnown for his early contributions with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Frusciante established himself as an excellent guitar player. He is still active today and is making new work with his own Stratocaster. His style of playing coupled with his Strat gives makes him one of the better Strat users of the day!Billy CorganBilly Corgan and the rest of the crew from Smashing Pumpkins shaped the alt-rock world forever. Billy Corgan’s grunge tone can be attributed to his use of the Strat! Corgan has proven that you don’t need to be playing hard rock or metal to be an epic Strat user! The EdgeLast, but certainly not least, is Dave Evans, or “The Edge.” His contributions to music with U2 have changed the way the world looks at music. His use and mastery of the Stratocaster, combined with his creative style, makes him one of the better Strat users of the current age.
