Sevendust's new, acoustic-flavored album "Time Travelers & Bonfires" has debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Hard Rock Albums chart, giving the group its second consecutive chart-topper after 2013's "Black Out the Sun." “Time Travelers & Bonfires" also debuted at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 with first week sales of about 15,000 copies. The set, financed by fans through PledgeMusic, features six brand new songs and re-recordings of six Sevendust favorites, including the hits "Black" and "Denial," and frontman Lajon Witherspoon tells us it was fans who encouraged the group to take on the older material:
"It was just an idea. People were saying they wanted to hear these songs acoustically. We said, 'Y'know what? That's going to be a great idea to mix and match and see how many songs we can come up with,' and we thought six was an even number. And it was great to do six old songs and six new songs, and 'Time Travelers' came out the way we wanted it to, man." Sevendust is currently on the road into late June with more dates -- some of which will be in Europe and some of which will be full-scale electric shows -- on tap for later in the summer.
