Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy has left the group for a third time. After the group canceled its participation in the Monsters of Rock Cruise due to the death of the singer's sister, Pearcy has issued a statement blaming "constant turmoil, unresolved business, personal attacks/threats in the public forum, and most of all, the disrespect for the fans" for his latest departure. He did, however, says that, "I'm very content and proud of the legacy and the music I've created. The music will live well beyond any of our lifetimes. I owe no one anything but a huge heartfelt thank you for coming to the party the last 40 years." Pearcy started Ratt during 1974 in Los Angeles, though the group didn't take off until 1984's triple-platinum "Out of the Cellar" album and its hit "Round and Round." Pearcy initially quit the group in 1992, then returned in 1996 only to leave again in 2000 and has been back with Ratt since 2006. The group was working on a new album, its first since 2010's "Infestation." Ratt is currently off the road, giving its remaining members -- guitarists Warren DeMartini and Carlos Savazo, bassist Juan Courcier and drummer Bobby Blotzer -- time to find a replacement for Pearcy.
