There is more in store for Soundgarden this summer than just their huge tour with Nine Inch Nails. Per Bad Feeling Magazine, production will begin on a Soundgarden documentary that will be helmed by filmmakers Reginald Harkema, Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen. While many people may not recognize Harkema, Dunn and McFadyen’s names in print, many rock fans may recognize their film work, which includes Iron Maiden: Flight 666, Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage and the recently released Super Duper Alice Cooper. In the interview with Bad Feeling, Harkema said that the documentary will focus mostly on Soundgarden’s formation and work from the mid-1980s to their breakup in 1997, with the documentary wrapping up with footage and insight to their eventual reunion. It is still too early to say whether the documentary will receive a wide release in theaters, but we can’t think of a better way to follow-up on the 20th anniversary of Superunknown than with this project. Considering the feedback on Harkema, Dunn and McFadyen’s previous works, Soundgarden fans are in for an incredible film.
