For anyone that’s been following the Foo Fighters on social media for the past few months, you probably noticed the band has been heading all over the country to various recording studios to make their new album, instead of just staying put in one studio. You know…like what most bands typically do. But this next Foos album is going to be anything but typical, as Dave Grohl mentions in a recent interview with Billboard. In addition to recording in various American cities (eight, to be exact), the Foos will also be filming a companion documentary, which, according to Grohl, will help tell “the history of American music” and why certain cities are known for specific musical styles. This same aesthetic will be applied to the new album, as well, but for fans that might be concerned about this undertaking, Grohl asserts that what the band is creating is definitely “a Foo Fighters record” while still aiming to create “stadium anthems that startle.” With a quote like that, it’s hard not to be intrigued this project. While no release timeline has been made public, here’s hoping the Foo Fighters continue to offer up some teases via social media, because Dave Grohl in a funny hat is far more entertaining than most cat videos on the internet, and that’s a fact!
