Jimmy Page Addresses Tour Rumors

With all of the promotional work that Led Zeppelin is putting forth for their upcoming concert film Celebration Day, fans can’t help but to remain hopeful that a tour is soon to follow.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, guitarist Jimmy Page added fuel to the fire when he described the band’s experience playing London’s O2 Arena in 2007.

He states, “It was a serious test, and we passed it, all of us. And we had an extraordinary communion on the stage. That's alive and well when you see it."

Singer Robert Plant then added that revisiting Zeppelin’s music was “a spectacular experience”.

And while this all sounds very promising, Page brings the rumors to a screeching halt with just a couple sentences:

"I think if there had been any more concerts to be done, we'd already be talking about them. So I don't see it."

As Page reminded reporters at the band’s London press conference last month, Celebration Day should be viewed for what it is: restored footage of a Led Zeppelin reunion show from five years ago, not a precursor to a future tour.

That being said, Page, Plant and John Paul Jones, along with the late John Bonham’s son, Jason, have been spending more time together publicly in the past two months than they have in years, which fans have undoubtedly enjoyed seeing.

The group sat down for a press conference today (October 9th) at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City where they answered questions before premiering the film. You can listen to it below in its entirety.

Page, Plant and Jones will proceed across the pond to launch the film on Friday (October 12th) at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, with Jones then heading to Berlin on the 15th and Page going to Tokyo on October 16th for more premiers.

Celebration Day, which documents the band’s performance at an event held in tribute to the late Atlantic Records co-founder, Ahmet Ertegun, will be out worldwide on Wednesday, October 17th.
