When you think of the music of Green Day, what comes to mind?

Catchy songs? Teenage angst? Political messages?

What about crime scene investigation?

The creators of CSI: NY must have thought the latter, because they are using the rock trio’s music as the primary soundtrack in one of their upcoming episodes.

According to the Green Day official website, songs from the band’s album trilogy ¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tre!, are going to be used to narrate a series of “dialogue-free action sequences” for a special show that airs next week.

Executive producer Pam Veasey explained, “…Green Day's music and lyrics beautifully accompanied the visuals making it a very special episode.”

Songs included in the episode will be “Stop When The Red Lights Flash”, “Amy”, “Night Life”, “The Forgotten” and “Kill the DJ”.

Green Day is reportedly “stoked” about the opportunity, and has been “blown away” by what they’ve seen so far.

The episode of CSI: NY is set for Friday, October 19th at 8pm EST on CBS.
