Happy Birthday Sammy Hagar!

Happy Birthday to the Red Rocker himself, Sammy Hagar!

The multi-faceted singer turns 65 today, and certainly has had his share of success during his time.

Rising to fame as a member of Montrose in 1973, Hagar went on to have a successful solo career through the 70s and 80s with hit songs like “I Can’t Drive 55” and “Your Love is Driving Me Crazy”.

But he wasn’t done yet.

When Hagar replaced David Lee Roth at the frontman of Van Halen in 1985, nobody could have predicted he would take them to the top of the charts four times in a row with albums like 5150, OU8120, For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge and Balance.

And, of course, Sammy’s success with “Van Hagar” posed Van Halen fans with a question that would last a lifetime: are you a Sammy or a Dave?

Hagar went on to rock with The Warboritas from 1999-2006 and then founded the supergroup Chickenfoot in 2009 with fellow former VH rocker, bassist Michael Anthony, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer, Chad Smith and guitarist Joe Satriani.

Sammy also helped develop a successful line of tequila, owns several restaurants across California, and even wrote a best-selling book entitled “Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock” in 2011.

In true Sammy form, the rocker will be celebrating his 65th year at his annual Birthday Bash in Cabo San Lucas, MX where he'll perform with the Wabos!

So let’s all have a shot of “Cabo Wabo” tequila and give thanks to the rock legend.

Happy Birthday, Red! Keep on rockin’!
