System of a Down guitarist Daron Malakian is hard at work on the second album by his other band, Scars On Broadway.
The new release will follow the band's 2008 debut album, but the difference this time is that Malakian is recording the album entirely by himself -- even without System drummer John Dolmayan, who was also part of Scars.
Malakian tells Revolver magazine that the new album is "just this secret, personal thing I wanted to do for myself. I didn't want there to be any hype behind it. I could have just recorded music and put it out under my own name, but I actually want to tour these songs and get behind them. And I was ready to do another Scars On Broadway record. I've just been going with the flow, and the flow's taken me here."
Scars is currently on the road opening for deftones and previewing song such as "Dictator," "Till the End," "Guns Are Loaded" and "Angry Guru."
An EP may be released before the full album, but Malakian has not targeted a date for either.
