Aerosmith Bassist Announces He is Cancer Free

11/26/2012

Aerosmith
is one of Rock & Roll’s most successful bands. However, their success isn’t the only thing bassist Tom Hamilton will be celebrating this holiday season.

In 2006, Hamilton was diagnosed with throat and tongue cancer, and although it was successfully treated, the disease resurfaced again in 2009.

In a recent interview with Backstage Axxess, Hamilton revealed that he became cancer free on November 9th.

I'm feeling really good! I’m cancer free as of 5 days ago,” he explained during the November 14th interview.

The doctor who treated me in 2009 said 'Listen, I can help you in a way that is going to preserve your way of life, but you’re going to have to come in here a lot afterwards for a long time!' I was completely fine with it and I said sign me up!”

It looks Hamilton's proactive approach was the right decision to make and we’re glad it paid off for the bassist.

The group released their 15th studio album, Music From Another Dimension, at the beginning of November, are currently on the second leg of their Global Warming tour until December 13th.
