With "House of Gold & Bones -- Part 1" less than two months old, Stone Sour fans can expect their first taste of "Part 2" sooner rather than later.
Frontman Corey Taylor tells us that the group's next single, "Do Me a Favor," will come from the sequel rather than the first part, and he thinks fans will be pleased with it:
"It's just another barnstormer. It's one of those tunes that, it's quite aggressive, and the label asked me if I would go in and tame stuff down, and I was like, 'No, I'm not doing that. This is going out the way it is, and I'm not gonna touch it up...This is the way it is on the album, that's the way it's going to be when we put it out to radio.' But it's got a huge chorus, I mean, it's got one of those anthemic choruses that's gonna have people pulling their heads off and kicking it into the audience. It's gonna be great."
Taylor says the "House of Gold & Bones -- Part 2" will follow in the spring, and he predicts Stone Sour will ping-pong future singles between the two albums:
"Once 'Do Me a Favor' kinda does its thing, we'll probably go back to 'Part 1' and find something there. It's a good problem to have, to be honest. There's so many great songs it's kinda hard to choose. We kinda can do whatever we want right now. Obviously with 'Absolute Zero' going number one we were like, 'Alright! That's really awesome!,' just one more stripe on our shoulder."
Stone Sour will be on the road throughout 2013 and 2014, including three major North American tours, according to Taylor, while four graphic novels and a film adaptation will be drawn from the albums.
