Stone Sour fans can mark April on their calendars for the release of "House of Gold & Bones Part 2," the second half of the concept project the group launched in the fall of 2012.
Corey Taylor tweeted, "Happy 2013! Big things soon: HoGaB pt 2 in April, comic #1 in April, book #2 this summer. But 1st single from pt 2 coming very soon!"
That single will be "Do Me a Favor," a rocking track that follows the successful "Absolute Zero" from "Part 1." Taylor says that he and his Stone Sour bandmates enjoyed sinking their musical teeth into a story that could continue from one album to the next:
"I loved the approach of this, knowing that there would be themes that would come back here and there...'Part 2' has a lot of themes from 'Part 1,' and there are things on 'Part 1' that are echoed on 'Part 2' that you don't even realize. It's really cool. It's pretty exciting. There's gonna be a lot of payoff on 'Part 2,' let's put it that way."
As Taylor noted in his tweet, April will also see the launch of a four-part "House of Gold & Bones" comic series, while he's also planning to publish a sequel to his "Seven Deadly Sins" book this summer, tentatively titled "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven."
Stone Sour will be touring throughout 2013 -- starting January 20 in Bethlehem, Pa. -- while in 2014 the group hopes to stage a theatrical "House of Gold & Bones" tour and start work on a film adaptation of the story.
