Sevendust has grown its 2013 North American tour exponentially, adding new dates with openers Lacuna Coil and Candlelight Red.
With "Decay," the first single from its upcoming album "Black Out the Sun," just out, the group has announced that the reunited Coal Chamber will join the tour on March 28 in Tempe, Arizona, for a 26-date run that finishes April 28 in Dallas.
Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose says he expects the group to be on the road in fits and starts throughout the year:
"I think we realize that we don't know how much longer we'll be able to do it, so we might as well do it, y'know?...We're like those old vets that play sports. It's like, I'm still gonna play up until they're thinking about benching me, up until the level where I don't think I can feel comfortable."
"I don't want to be up there falling apart and having people say, 'Aw, man, I remember when he used to play hard.' That's the way I play. I don't act. We don't act it out...If we go out there to play the way we feel like playing and we can't do it, I'm sure somebody's gonna look and say, 'Hey, maybe we should start thinking about wrapping this up.' So hopefully it's not this go-round."
Sevendust begins touring February 2 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The group plans to shoot a video for "Decay" just before that, and "Black Out the Sun" comes out March 26.
