The list of guest artists set to appear on the new Queens of the Stone Age album is already impressive, and now that a Rock and Roll icon has announced their involvement, this record could be one of 2013’s best!

NME reports that none other than Sir Elton John will feature his talents on at least one of the album’s tracks, which he revealed while being interviewed by Dave Grohl on last night’s episode of “Chelsea Lately.” Grohl, who laid down the drum tracks for the upcoming LP, hinted that the pair had just worked on a project together, after which, Elton admitted they recorded a QOTSA song.

During the interview, Elton chatted about having recorded with Engelbert Humperdinck earlier that day and then flipping the switch to lay down some Rock and Roll with Queens.

Grohl joked, “‘I remember [Elton] walking in and him being, like, 'Have you got a ballad for me?' and we were just like, 'no, we do not have a ballad for you.’”

However, with Elton also having worked with bands such as Alice in Chains in the past, we’re pretty sure he didn’t feel too far out of his comfort zone.

No official date has been confirmed for when the latest Queens of the Stone Age album will drop, but it has been speculated that it will be out by the spring.
