Whether you’re a devoted fanatic or a casual listener who wants to get familiar with one of the influences of modern groups like Metallica and Pantera, the British bad boys of Judas Priest are releasing an epic DVD/Blu-ray set entitled Epitaph that everybody will enjoy.
The band is celebrating their 40th anniversary in the business, and giving fans a second chance to experience the final show of their Epitaph World Tour, or as the official press release describes it: Judas Priest’s “final large-scale world tour ever.” This isn’t the last we’ll hear from them though, but let’s get to that later!
Although founding member and lead guitarist K.K. Downing stepped down before the start of the tour, the global journey went for 50 weeks, culminating in the dramatic closer at London’s HMV Hammersmith Apollo late last May which is captured for the DVD/Blu-ray release in all its glory.
At least one track from each of the heavy metal group’s 14 albums is represented in the epic show’s 23-song set and all the favorites including “Diamonds and Rust”, “Painkiller”, and “Living After Midnight,” are there for your rewind-able…rewind-able…and rewind-able enjoyment.
But wait, you’ve got another thing coming! Judas Priests’ official website dropped viewers a promising line in early March: “We're keeping the sites quiet for now whilst the guys are in the studio - more details to be announced soon!”
Epitaph is due out on May 28 via Legacy Recordings. For more information, head to JudasPriest.com.
