Midwest Rock and Roll fans may have been disappointed when they learned that Stone Sour would be dropping out of the lineup for this year’s Rock Fest in Wisconsin, but at least a very qualified candidate will be stepping in for them!
The festival announced over the weekend that guitar icon and former Guns N’ Roses rocker Slash will be performing in place of the Corey Taylor-fronted outfit, which had to drop out due to a conflict in their schedule.
Slash, along with his touring band, Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, will take the stage in Cadott, WI, on Saturday, July 20 to celebrate the festival’s 20th anniversary. Other acts performing that day include headliners, KISS, as well as Megadeth, Warrant, Hellyeah and more.
Stone Sour is gearing up for a performance at this year’s Golden Gods Awards, which are set for Thursday, May 2 at L.A.’s Club Nokia. The band will then head overseas for the summer for a series of European tour dates.
Slash, meanwhile, will kick off a North American summer tour on July 3 in Thunder Bay, Canada.
