The first half of Five Finger Death Punch’s new double album, The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell, Volume 1, will arrive in a little over a month but the band knows there’s “Never Enough” 5FDP news for their fans.
No need to worry about the wait because you'll be able to check out some cool behind the scenes videos and interviews in a series of webisodes starring the band.
The first webisode covers “Watch You Bleed” and “You,” the second and third tracks on the album, which follow the leadoff track and single “Lift Me Up,” which reached No. 9 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart.
In the video, 5FDP frontman Ivan Moody sat down with bandmate Jeremy Spencer and explained that the decision to release their latest record as a double album came simply from being inspired to produce a bunch of new songs.
“Once we got in there and started working, the material just started coming out almost like water out of a fountain,” Moody said in the video. “It was real fluent and everything was going perfectly, song after song after song and by the time we were done, we realized we were sitting on 24 or 25 tracks of music.”
The duo joked about the darkness of “Watch You Bleed,” while Moody talked about “You,” which is clearly a personal favorite from the new album.
“In my opinion, it’s one of the most brutal songs that we’ve done since Way of the Fist,” he said, adding, “This is why they started writing metal in the first place.”
5FDP are heavily promoting the new album, having already released clips of “You” and several other tracks from the album online last week.
Instead of keeping the songs in the vault for future albums, the group decided a double album was the way to go. Moody said the new record came out better than anything he could have anticipated.
Volume 1 of 5FDP’s upcoming double album will be released on July 30. For more on Five Finger Death Punch, head over to their official page.
