Those still hoping for a White Zombie reunion probably shouldn’t hold their breath.
During a recent interview with Rock It Out Blog!, the shock rocker expressed that he is not interested in reuniting with his former bandmates, and he believes that if White Zombie did get back together, fans would actually be disappointed.
“No. We did it, and it's done,” Zombie explains to the interviewer. “And it wouldn't be good. That's the thing. I mean, a lot of people forget, because they went to see White Zombie and they were 15 years old and it was their first concert and everybody in White Zombie was, like, 23 years old. They're no longer 15 and they're gonna come to the concert at 40 and look at White Zombie, who are all gonna be 50, and go, 'This sucks now.' I mean, they forget that time marched on and changed. So I don't wanna come back and do it again just so that it can be inferior.”
The singer goes on to say that White Zombie was able to bow out gracefully while the band was on top in 1998, and “that’s the best way to leave it.”
Zombie talked to Rock It Out Blog! during a break in the action on his Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival tour, which hit Tinley Park, IL over the weekend. Recently, Zombie announced on his official website that the final two shows of the tour in Houston and Dallas, on August 3 and 4 respectively, will be recorded for a live concert DVD.
“Attention TEXAS! Zombie will be filming their first ever LIVE DVD in your state,” Zombie wrote. “Come to the Houston and Dallas shows in your best Zombie gear and we will get you in the movie! Remember the crazier you are... the more screen time you will get!”
Zombie and friends are currently touring in support of his 2013 album, Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor.
