In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Nirvana’s third and final studio album In Utero, a deluxe edition will be reissued this year.
The collection scheduled for sale this fall via Universal, will showcase remastered songs such as “Heart Shaped Box” and “All Apologizes,” B-sides, unheard demos, compilation tracks, live recordings, and more, spanning over 70 tracks, NME reports. It will be available on a 3xCD/1-DVD “Super Deluxe Edition” as well as standard CD and digital formats.
The live tracks include material from the “Live and Loud” concert that Cobain, Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl and Pat Smear rocked at Pier 48 in Seattle on December 13, 1993, which will also be released as a standalone DVD with bonus material on September 23, according to NME.
In Utero remains a hauntingly illuminating album as it was rumored to be a farewell letter from Cobain who passed in the spring of 1994. Upon its 1993 release, the album debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200, and has since sold 12 million copies worldwide.
“In Utero 20th Anniversary” will be available on September 24.
