Those who didn’t want to wait another week to hear Pearl Jam’s latest album are now free from the burden!
As of yesterday (October 8), the grunge-rockers made Lightning Bolt available for streaming on iTunes, much to the delight of fans who have been waiting since 2009 for new music from the band.
Produced by Brendan O’Brien, the album marks the band’s tenth studio effort, and features twelve tracks, including the hard-hitting “Mind Your Manners” and the ballad “Sirens” – both of which have already been released as singles.
Two weeks ago, the band also premiered a short-film directed by Danny Clinch, which details the back story of Lightning Bolt, and features the band being interviewed by Judd Apatow, Carrie Brownstein, Mark Richards and Steve Gleason.
Lightning Bolt is officially due out on October 15, and Pearl Jam will launch the release by opening a special pop-up shop for one night only at the Volcom Store in New York City. More info on that here.
Additionally, Pearl Jam will embark on an extensive US tour in support of their new LP on October 11 in Pittsburgh, PA.
